Functional safety assessment and certification for electric
bicycles/PeTs

The latest electric vehicle standard EN 15194:2017 officially came
into effect on February 28, 2018. This standard was adopted as the
C-type standard of CE-MD (EU Machinery Directive). Electric
power-assisted bicycles will be required to meet the CE Machinery
Directive. provides one-stop functional safety assessment and
certification services for electric bicycle companies to help
product designs meet international standards and meet product
export requirements.
Service background
The latest electric vehicle standard EN 15194:2017 officially came
into effect on February 28, 2018.
This standard was adopted as the C-type standard of CE-MD (EU
Machinery Directive). Electric power-assisted bicycles will be
required to meet the CE Machinery Directive.
Several changes in the EN15194:2017 standard:
1. Clear provisions have been made for the functional safety of products (anti-tampering, prevention of unauthorized use, normal use under circuit failure conditions).
2. Clearer and stricter provisions have been made for product labels and various electrical symbols (lights, switches, etc.).
3. The requirements for the mechanical structural strength of products are more stringent, mainly reflected in the increased testing requirements for the strength and durability tests of key components such as frames, front forks, and handlebars.
