Mobile Phone Testing & Certification; What is Mobile Phone Testing & Certification ?
Mobile phone testing and certification
basic introduction
With the increasing popularity of wireless communication
technology, a series of software and hardware technologies such as
mobile phone communication and smart home are developing rapidly,
including Bluetooth, WIFI, GPS, Beidou technology, the emergence of
2G, 3G, 4G and even 5G for mobile phones, NFC, Zigbee, With the
application of Z-Wave and other technologies, the demand for
wireless product certification is growing rapidly. Betest has also
increased its investment in hardware equipment and professionals,
and has tapped into global certification resources in the original
global certification market to provide Chinese manufacturers with
mobile phones and their products. Peripheral communication products
enter the global market and provide one-stop services locally.
At present, the global certification of mobile phones, except for a
few South American countries and Asian countries, most national
standards and testing requirements closely follow the requirements
of Europe and North America. LCS can provide professional technical
assistance and efficient services for mobile phones to enter the
global market.
European market
Mobile phones entering the European market are subject to
compulsory certification and must meet the test standards of the
R&TTE 1999/5/ec directive.
Chemistry needs to comply with RoHS requirements
Mobile phone network access requirements need to comply with GCF
requirements
Overview of the R&TTE directive:
RF Test 3.2 Spectrum
Safety test 3.1a Safety
EMC Test 3.1b EMC
Health test 3.1a Safety
Sound pressure test EN50332
North American market - United States, Canada
FCC test standards; test content includes RF, EMC, SAR, HAC testing
related regulations;
The certification methods for mobile phone applications are: FCC
DoC and FCC Certification (FCC ID)
Detection standards for mobile phone access to the network: 3GPP TS
51.010; 3GPP TS 34.121, TS34.123, etc.
Test items: RF, PROTOCOL; SIM, ACOUSTIC, etc.
Canadian IC certification:
IC –Industry Canada, Industry Canada§IC certification is a
certification for wireless products. It is similar to FCC in terms
of test items and certification process. There is also an
organization FCB similar to TCB. Generally, TCB has FCB
qualifications and can apply at the same time as FCC.
Australian market - Australia & New Zealand
Australian RCM certification
Starting from July 2012, Australia and New Zealand have gradually
replaced the SAFETY, C-Tick, and A-Tick marks with the RCM mark. In
conjunction with the implementation of the RCM mark, relevant radio
communication, telecommunications, electromagnetic compatibility
and other requirements need to comply with relevant resolutions. .
Products that have been labeled with A-tick or C-tick do not need
to change the label after the transition period. New RCM =
A-tick+C-tick + SAA (safety regulations)
Manufacturers affixing the RCM mark to their products must comply
with the relevant electrical safety requirements of AS/NZS 4417.
Asian markets - China, Japan
Japan MIC certification
Japan MIC is Japan’s mandatory certification for wireless products,
somewhat similar to the domestic SRRC. It follows Japan's radio
wave law. The specific test specifications follow the MIC (Ministry
of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan) Notice No. 88
regulations, and the update and maintenance of the test
specifications are also carried out by MIC.
JATE access to the network
Products with 2G/3G/4G and other communication functions need to
apply for JATE
China CCC SRRC CTA requirements
CCC - Mandatory Certification Requirements - Safety and EMC
SRRC-Mandatory Certification Requirements-Type Approval
CTA-mandatory network access requirements-mobile phone or
communication equipment network access
SAR&SRRC certification
SAR
Northtest has the DASY5.2 test system manufactured by Speag
Company, which fully complies with the standards IEC62209,
IEEE1528, EN50360; and the SAR test requirements of FCCOET-65, ANSI
C63.19; and meets the HAC test specified in the standard ANSI
C63.19 , the advantages are obvious.
SRRC certification
According to the "Administrative Regulations on Imported Radio
Transmitting Equipment" and "Administrative Regulations on the
Production of Radio Transmitting Equipment", in order to strengthen
the management of the import and production of radio transmitting
equipment, any radio transmitting equipment exported to the
People's Republic of China, or within the territory of the People's
Republic of China All radio transmitting equipment produced
(including trial production) must hold a "Radio Transmitting
Equipment Model Approval Certificate" issued by the State Radio
Regulation Committee and SRRC after model approval of its
transmitting characteristics. The model approval code must be
marked on the label of the factory equipment.
