HPHT Rough Lab Diamonds Description

The laboratory cultivation of diamonds is the use of high technology to simulate the environment in which natural diamonds are formed in the earth's crust, and layer by layer of carbon atoms to form rough stones. There is no difference between these two types of diamonds.
Although synthetic diamonds are manufactured in factories, their chemical and physical properties are very close to natural diamonds.

In the 1950s, scientists made diamonds in the laboratory for the first time. However, the diamonds manufactured at that time were too small to be suitable for jewelry. By the mid-1990s, people began to make larger gem-quality crystals, and they have continued to this day. Nowadays, more and more companies are engaged in synthetic diamond manufacturing business. Many countries and regions are manufacturing synthetic diamonds for jewelry and industrial purposes.

In some cases, trained gemologists can identify diamonds manufactured and processed by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or high pressure high temperature (HPHT) by using standard gem testing equipment. But sometimes, gemologists need to use advanced scientific instruments to test diamonds in order to complete the identification.

The traditional diamond manufacturing method is called the high pressure high temperature (HPHT) method. It uses a device to simulate the high pressure and high temperature conditions of natural diamonds when it is formed underground, and uses carbon materials in the device to produce synthetic diamonds.

A relatively new method called chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is to inject carbon-containing gas into a vacuum chamber and deposit its crystals on synthetic diamond seeds. This method requires lower temperature and lower pressure than the high-pressure high-temperature method. Both methods are currently very popular diamond manufacturing methods. The initial equipment cost of using the chemical vapor precipitation method to manufacture diamonds is lower than that of the high-pressure and high-temperature method, but the diamonds manufactured using this method require subsequent processing to improve the color.

Some people may treat laboratory-made diamonds as imitations, but this is not right. Real diamond imitations, such as synthetic zirconia or synthetic moissanite, just look like diamonds, but their chemical and physical properties are completely different.

HPHT Rough Lab Diamonds Introduction

Natural diamonds are created by nature and are the result of high temperature and pressure formed over billions of years. The Lab Grown Diamonds are produced in the laboratory, usually in a few weeks. The chemical difference between the two is same.

So how do you distinguish between Lab Grown Diamonds and natural diamonds?

There is no obvious difference between the Lab Grown Diamonds and natural diamonds. Even professional gemologists need special equipment to identify them. By zooming in, professionals will be able to discern subtle contrasts in diamond inclusions grown and mined in the laboratory.
