1. Basic Principles of Induction Melting Furnaces:
The metal smelting process is completed in the
induction melting furnace using the induction electrocaloric
effect. The power supply is generally divided into three types:
high frequency (above 10 kHz), intermediate frequency (50 kHz to 10
kHz) and power frequency (50 or 60 kHz). According to the size and
capacity of the charge and the frequency of the power supply,
induction melting furnaces are divided into two categories: core
(mainly closed tank type) and coreless (crucible type). The circuit
of an induction melting furnace is very similar to that of a
transformer. The primary coil is an induction coil, and the coil of
a cored induction furnace has an iron core to reduce magnetic flux
leakage and improve power factor. The alternating magnetic field
generated by the coil induces an electromotive force in the charge
and generates Joule heat.
During smelting, the metal is heated by induction and
then conducted to the slag, so the temperature of the slag is low,
and the structure of the furnace determines that the interface
between the steel and the slag is small, which is not conducive to
the physical and chemical reaction between the molten pool and the
slag, so special steel or When nickel-based alloys are used, better
raw materials should be used, ingredients should be prepared
according to the burning loss of each element, and they should be
rapidly heated and melted. When a large amount of charge has been
melted, slag should be added to reduce oxidation. The slag should
be compatible with the furnace lining. After full melting, add
deoxidizers (ferrosilicon powder, silicon calcium powder, aluminum
powder, etc.) in batches according to the composition of the
finished product. If necessary, take samples for analysis and
adjust the composition. When the composition is qualified and the
deoxidation is good, the steel can be tapped. Cast iron is not
seriously oxidized during melting and heat preservation, and the
metallurgical quality requirements are also low, which can give
full play to the advantages of induction heating for convenient
operation.

3. Brief Introduction of Electric Induction Melting Furnace:
Medium frequency induction melting furnace is an induction heating machine. Alternating current in the coils melts the metals in the crucible and then heats the hot metal to the temperature needed. It is the heat treatment prior to forging, sintering and hot rolling in casting and melting industries.
