Definition of Terms

1. Three phase different periods: refers to the maximum and minimum difference between the opening (closing) times of the three phases of the switch.

2. In phase and different periods: Refers to the difference in the opening (closing) time of switches with six or more fractures in the same phase.

3. Bouncing time: refers to the cumulative time value of all contacts and separations (i.e. bouncing) that occur during the closing process of the dynamic and static contacts of the switch (i.e. the time between the first contact and complete contact).

4. Opening time: The time interval between the opening and tripping of the circuit breaker in the closed position and the separation of all arc contacts at each pole.

5. Closing time: The time interval between the moment when the circuit breaker is in the opening position and the moment when all contacts of the poles are in contact with the circuit breaker.

6. Reclosing time: During the reclosing cycle, the time interval between the start of the opening time and the time when all pole contacts come into contact.

7. Rigid opening (closing) speed: refers to the average speed within a specified time or distance when the moving contact of the switch is in contact with the static contact. For example, 10ms, for opening, it refers to the average speed within 10ms after opening, and for closing, it refers to the average speed within 10ms before closing.

8. Opening distance: refers to the distance from the opening state of the switch to the moment when the moving contact and the stationary contact just come into contact.

9. Maximum speed of opening (closing): Refers to the maximum value of the instantaneous speed of opening (closing). Generally speaking, this value should appear in the section where the switch has just opened or closed. This can be judged from the speed and travel curves.

10. Average speed of opening (closing): refers to the ratio of the travel and time of the switch contact during the entire operation process.
