What is Tecar Therapy?

Accelerating the body's natural recovery ability. TECAR therapy is a form of combined contact diathermy and electrotherapy. It is a medical practice that applies electromagnetic energy to biological tissue. The electromagnetic frequency applied originates from the radiofrequency spectrum.

Tecar Therapy works on several levels, directly at a cellular level provoking different effects: bio stimulant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema and decontracting.

What is meant by double emission modes, capacitive and resistive?

The energy is supplied in two modes, capacitive and resistive. The capacitive mode concentrates energy in the muscles, while the resistive mode is designed for the treatment of bones, tendons and cartilage.

What is the difference between Resistive mode and CApacitive mode?

The Tecar current flows more through the resistive or the capacitive parts of the body according to its frequency. In Resistive maode, the low frequency current passes more through the resistive parts of the body (joints, ligaments, tendons and bone). Resistive mode concentrates the energy mainly upon the ‘hard’ tissues such as joints, ligaments, tendons and bone. In CApacitive mode, the higher frequency current flows more through the capacitive parts of the body (muscles and areas with high liquid content).
