Type I nut refers to the nut nominal height m ≥ 0.8D ordinary hex nuts, the type size should be consistent with the provisions of GB / T 6170;The height of type II nut is higher than that of type I nut. The type and size should be in accordance with GB / T6175. The purpose of adding II nuts is twofold: First, get a nut that is not heat-treated and has a low cost by increasing the height of the nut.

Obviously without the heat treatment of type 1 nut can not reach the mechanical properties of 9-level nut requirements. Specified Type II nut for another purpose to obtain better toughness 12-level nut.
