Description

This cable configuration sounds like an example of a Loose Tube Fiber Optic Cable. The fibers, whether

single or multi-mode, are housed in a loose tube made of high-modulus plastic, ensuring flexibility and

protection. Filled with a water-resistant compound, the tubes are arranged around a central steel wire,

acting as a metallic strength member. This setup provides compactness and circularity to the cable core.

To fortify against water penetration, a longitudinally applied PSP (Polyethylene-Plastic-Steel) layer covers

the cable core, bolstering its resistance. The cable is ultimately encased in a PE sheath, completing its

protective structure.
