Description
Ultrasonic sensors are sensors that convert ultrasonic signals into other energy signals (usually electrical signals). Ultrasonic wave is a mechanical wave whose vibration frequency is higher than 20kHz. It has the characteristics of high frequency, short wavelength, small diffraction phenomenon, especially good directivity, can become a ray and directional propagation. Ultrasonic waves can penetrate liquids and solids very well, especially in solids that are opaque to sunlight. The ultrasonic wave will produce significant reflection when it encounters impurities or boundary surface and form reflection echo. It can produce Doppler effect when it encounters moving objects.
The ultrasonic distance sensor transmits the ultrasonic pulse to the measured object, and then returns the echo formed by the reflection of the measured object to the receiving sensor to obtain the time difference between transmission and reception, and then the distance between the transducer and the surface of the measured medium can be obtained according to the sound velocity in the medium. Therefore, we can calculate the distance D=C * t/2 between the transducer and the medium reflecting surface, except that the distance from the ultrasonic transmission to the reception is twice the distance from the transducer to the medium. (D is distance, C is sound speed, t is time).
This sensor provides very short to long-range detection and ranging, in a compact, robust PVC / PTFE housing, designed to meet IP67 water intrusion. The power 13V-30V operation detects objects from 0.2 meters to 2 meters. The interface output formats RS485 serial digital output.
