Product Details

Product Description:

The FESTO solenoid valve serves the purpose of controlling the switch of liquid and gas pipelines as a two-position DO control. It is commonly used for controlling small pipelines. Electric valves, on the other hand, are utilized for analog regulation of medium flow in liquid, gas, and wind system pipelines, and are controlled by AI. Electric valves can also function as two-position switch controls in managing large valves and air systems. Electromagnetic valves, however, can only be used as switch signals for DO control and can only control small pipeline systems. They are commonly found in pipelines with DN50 in diameter or less, and are hardly ever used beyond this diameter. Electric valves have AI feedback signals and can be controlled by DO or AO. They are more prevalent in larger pipelines and air valves.

When it comes to their respective workings, electromagnetic valves only have two states: on and off, and the coil that drives them has a relatively short action time during switching. Electric valves, meanwhile, are driven by a motor, and they take a certain amount of time to simulate the opening or closing action, which can be adjusted.

In terms of their working properties, electromagnetic valves generally have a small flow coefficient and low working pressure difference. For instance, the flow coefficient of a 25 caliber solenoid valve is much smaller than that of a 15 caliber electric ball valve.

The Characteristics of FESTO Solenoid Valves

FESTO solenoid valves are known for their unique characteristics that set them apart from other automatic control valves. These characteristics include:

  1. External Leakage Blocking: FESTO solenoid valves are designed to provide easy control of internal leakage while blocking external leakage. This is crucial for safe use because internal and external leakage can endanger the safety of the system. Unlike other automatic control valves that require solving the problem of external leakage caused by long-term action of the valve stem dynamic seal, FESTO solenoid valves are completed by applying electromagnetic force to the iron core sealed in the magnetic isolation sleeve of the electric control valve, making external leakage easy to block.
  2. Simple System: FESTO solenoid valves have a simple structure that makes them easy to install and maintain. They are also affordable, making them a more cost-effective option than other types of actuators such as control valves. Additionally, the switch signal control of solenoid valves makes them convenient to connect with industrial computers, adding to their appeal in this computer age.
  3. Action Express Delivery: With a response time of just a few milliseconds, FESTO solenoid valves can be controlled more sensitively than other automatic control valves. They also come with low power consumption and a lightweight design, making them an energy-efficient and space-saving option.
  4. Adjustment Accuracy Limitations: While FESTO solenoid valves have many advantages, they do have limitations. For example, their adjustment accuracy is limited, as they only have two states: on and off. Additionally, electromagnetic valves have high requirements for the cleanliness of the medium, and media containing particles cannot be used.
  5. Various Models and Wide Range of Uses: Despite their limitations, FESTO solenoid valves come in various models and are suitable for a wide range of applications, making them a popular choice in many industries.

Applications:

Applicable Power Supply

It's important to select the appropriate solenoid valve based on the type of power supply. For AC and DC valves, AC is generally more user-friendly.

For voltage specifications, AC220V should be the first choice, with DC24V as a secondary option. The fluctuation of power supply voltage should be around +10% for AC and -15% for DC. If it goes beyond this range, voltage stabilization measures should be taken or special orders should be made.

When selecting a solenoid valve, it's important to consider the power supply capacity in relation to the rated current and power consumption. In cases where the capacity is insufficient, priority should be given to indirect solenoid valves and attention should be paid to the high VA value during AC starting.

Applicable Environment

When selecting a solenoid valve, it's important to choose an appropriate temperature range within the allowable limits. If deviations exist from standard temperature ranges, customized orders may be necessary.

In environments with high humidity, water droplets, or rain, waterproof solenoid valves should be selected. In case of frequent vibrations or impacts in the environment, it may also be necessary to select specialized varieties such as marine solenoid valves.

In the case of corrosive or explosive environments, emphasis should be given to selecting corrosion-resistant materials with safety requirements in mind. When environmental space is limited, multifunctional solenoid valves may be an appropriate solution, as they eliminate the need for bypass and manual valves, making online maintenance more convenient.

Applicable Media

The type of solenoid valve chosen should correspond to whether the media is gas, liquid, or mixed.

When selecting an appropriate solenoid valve, it's important to take into account different specification options with varying medium temperature thresholds. Failure to account for this important distinction can lead to coil burn-out and aged sealing components, which ultimately impacts the solenoid valve's service life.

Most solenoid valves should have medium viscosity that is below 50cSt. For those instances where the viscosity exceeds this limit and the diameter is less than 15mm, high viscosity solenoid valves should be selected. Finally, in cases where medium cleanliness is not high, it's advisable to install a backwash filter valve in front of the solenoid valve.
