Generally, pore size of the membrane filters used in regular IV infusion sets is 15μm which can not retain ultrafine particles smaller than 15μm diameters. What’s worse is, as the filtration (infusion process) goes on for a while, the pore size will get larger and the infusion sets will have even poorer performance of sterilization, meanwhile, the membrane itself will generate fallen fibers resulting in additional particles.

 

The IV filters we offer are designed to have better, more precise and stable filtration performance to increase the safety of vulnerable patients during infusion administration. The PES membranes incorporated in our IV filter have proven performance in clinical application for 2 decades worldwide, with maximum pore size of 5μm, and negligible change of pore size as the filtration goes on. The micron IV filters have greatly improve the micro-particles interception capability, they work as a barrier to prevent endotoxin, bacteria and other contaminants from getting into the infusion circuit, these precise filters also have very low extractables and negligible fallen fibers, therefore In-line IV filters is quite essential in safeguarding against clinical phlebitis, vascular discoloration hardening, blood clots, limb numbness, granulomas, tumors and other adverse reactions in IV infusion administration.
