Fiberall optical fiber Ethernet switch (fiber media converter) is a high performance management type two layers optical fiber Ethernet access switch. Users can choose all optical ports configuration or optical and electronic ports mixed configuration, access medium can be single mode fiber or multimode fiber. The switch can also support remote network management and local management to realize the port state control and switch settings, the part between the access layer and core layer called the distribution layer or the convergence layer, the access layer is designed to allow the end user to connect to the network, the access layer switch has the advantages of low cost and high density; The aggregation and exchange layer is a convergence point of multiple access layer switches, it must be able to handle all the traffic from access layer equipment, and provide the uplink to the core layer, therefore, compares to access layer switches, the convergence layer switches need higher performance, less interface and higher exchange rate.
