Reliable Power Transmission: Introducing Type 440 Cables
Introduction:
Type 440 cables are engineered to provide reliable power
transmission in various industrial applications, offering
flexibility, high resistance to abrasion and weathering, and
exceptional durability.
These composite screened cables are designed for trailing and most
reeling applications, making them suitable for long lengths of
cable runs where other types of cables may not meet pilot
resistance requirements.
Application:
Type 440 cables are trailing cables with good flexibility, ideal
for long lengths of cable runs where the use of other cable types
could result in pilot resistance not meeting requirements. They are
suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, including
mobile equipment, where reliable power transmission is essential.
Features:
- Fire retardant: Complies with AS/NZS 2802 standards, ensuring
safety in the event of fire, crucial for industrial environments.
- Wide temperature range: Can operate in temperatures ranging from
-25°C to +90°C, suitable for various industrial settings.
- Flexible design: Designed for flexibility to accommodate trailing
and reeling applications, ensuring ease of installation and
operation.
- Excellent resistance: Exhibits high resistance to chemical
exposure, mechanical impact, water immersion, and solar radiation,
ensuring durability and reliability in demanding industrial
environments.
- Optional reinforcement: Incorporates a polyaramid yarn Feichun®
braid reinforcement for enhanced tear and cut-through resistance,
ensuring durability in heavy-duty applications.
Construction:
Type 440 cables feature composite screened power cores with three
pilot cores, constructed with tinned copper for conductivity and
durability.
The insulation consists of white EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber),
providing effective insulation for power transmission. The cable
includes a composite screen (earth) of tinned annealed copper wire
and polyester yarn for efficient shielding against external
interference. Additionally, the cable includes three
elastomer-covered and proofed tape pilots disposed in the cable
interstices for enhanced reliability.
The sheath is heavy-duty HD-85-PCP, with an optional polyaramid
yarn Feichun® braid reinforcement for added durability.
Conclusion:
Type 440 cables are essential components in various industrial
applications, providing reliable power transmission with
flexibility, durability, and resistance to environmental factors.
With their robust construction, wide temperature range, and
optional reinforcement, these cables offer a dependable solution
for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in demanding industrial
environments.
By adhering to industry standards and incorporating innovative
design features, Type 440 cables contribute to the efficiency and
safety of industrial operations.
