Type (N)SHTÖU – FO (LWL) Mining Trailing & Reeling Cable
Designed specifically for reeling operations on Electrified Rubber
Tyred Gantry (ERTG) cranes, the (N)SHTÖU – FO (LWL) cable serves as
a power supply with integrated fiber optics. It is suitable for
winding operations subjected to tensile stress and/or torsional
stress, as well as for connection and control cable in lifting
devices, hoisting plants, and transporting machines operating under
heavy mechanical loads. Additionally, it functions effectively as a
drum and drag cable in various environmental conditions, including
dry, damp, or wet rooms, and wet industrial environments.

• Conductor: Features electrolytic annealed, class 5 stranded
tinned copper wires, with the option for a plain conductor upon
request.
• Separator: Allows for the application of a suitable tape over the
conductor for added insulation and protection.
• Insulation: Utilizes a special HEPR-based elastomer compound
(minimum 3GI3 quality) to ensure high performance and durability.
• Core Identification: Power and control cables feature
light-colored insulation with numbers printed in black, while the
earth conductor is green-yellow colored for easy identification.
• Optical Fiber: Includes fiber cores with diameters of 9 μm, 62.5
μm, or 50 μm, with designs available for up to 24 fibers. Fiber
coding and covering arrangements aid in fiber type identification.
• Lay Up: Three main conductors are laid up with two earth cores
and a fiber optic element in the outer interstice for optimal
structure and performance.
• Inner Sheath: Utilizes a special type of elastomer compound
superior to GM1b for enhanced protection and insulation.
• Sheath Reinforcement: Equipped with an antitorsion textile
braided embedded sheath to resist torsional stress and enhance
cable longevity.
• Outer Sheath: Features a special rubber-based heavy-duty compound
that is oil and chemical resistant, as well as abrasion and notch
resistant (5GM3/5GM5), ensuring long-lasting performance in
challenging environments.
