Drill pipe
 

The drill pipe is a tipped steel tube at the rear for connecting the drilling rig ground surface equipment to the drilling equipment or the bottom hole at the bottom of the well. Drill rods are used to transport drilling mud to the drill bit and raise it with the drill bit to lower or rotate the bottom hole device. Drill pipe must be able to withstand huge internal and external pressure, distortion, bending and vibration.
