Product Details

Product Description:

ESD clothes made with FairtechTextiles fabrics is the best solution for protecting electronic components against ESD. Our Anti Static fabrics have been certified to European Standards, making them the perfect choice for eliminating the ESD effect when working with electronic components, high-explosive vapors, or in sterile environments.
Antistatic fabrics, also known as conductive fabrics or ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) fabrics, are specially designed textiles created to dissipate or negate static electricity. This type of fabric is used extensively in industries where the potential damage caused by static electricity is high.
Antistatic fabrics come in five basic styles: 5mm strip, 5mm grid, 2.5mm grid, anti static polyester fabric, anti static TC fabric, Anti static Diamond fabric, and Anti static T Shirt fabric, ranging from 10^6Ω-10^9Ω surface resistance. All of these fabrics are available in 1.5m width and are certified for use in Class 10-100 cleanrooms. Anti static fabrics are widely utilized in Microelectronics, optical electronics, precision instruments, aerospace, and other fields requiring extreme levels of static electricity control.
The core purpose of antistatic fabric is to prevent the buildup and discharge of these static charges, which can potentially damage sensitive electronic components or ignite hazardous materials. The fabric is constructed with conductive fibers like carbonized polyester or stainless steel which act as a network throughout the cloth, providing the necessary conductivity to quickly dissipate static charges.

Features:

Conductive silk, also known as ESD Fabric, is composed of special polyester filament and high quality conductive yarns. This cloth can be used for sewing various functional garments, such as coveralls, suits, jackets, caps, boots and etc. It offers good resistance to static, chemicals and abrasion. It is designed for Class 1000 cleanroom and higher, with contribution to electronics, medical, biology, optics, spaceflight industries etc. The fabric meets ESD standards, with a system resistance range of 10e6-10e8Ω. It prevents the accumulation of static electricity of clothes, and is made of metal oxide or carbon black on composite spinning.

ESD Fabric also has great performance. Under the temperature of 20±5℃ and the humidity of 30~40%, its surface density average after 100 washes is ≤7.0μc/m2. Additionally, the etymology of electricity of every cloth is <0.6μ c/pc. Finally, its washable grade is A≥33.0 h, B≥16.5 h, C≥7.5h.

Applications:

Antistatic fabrics have many applications across various industries where static electricity control is essential. Examples of these include:

  • The electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industry, where these fabrics are used to create garments, gloves, and cleanroom clothing for personnel to avoid electrostatic discharge and hence, mitigating any possible damage to sensitive electronic components.
  • The automotive industry for the production of seating materials and protective clothing to ward off static buildup and potential dangers during vehicle assembly.
  • The pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, where these fabrics are used in cleanrooms and sterile environments to reduce static electricity and provide shielding for sensitive equipment or medications.
  • In the handling of explosive materials or flammable substances, as these fabrics are used to produce clothing and equipment for workers to avoid static discharge and possible ignition.

In terms of maintenance and durability, antistatic fabrics generally keep their conductivity and antistatic properties throughout their practical life span. However, it is essential to adhere to the manufacturer's directions when it comes to proper care and cleaning to guarantee continual performance. Further, antistatic fabrics may have special needs when it comes to washing, drying, and handling; these should be taken into consideration to avoid any damage to their conductive properties.

FAQ:

Q1. What is the ESD safe symbol?

A1: The ESD Susceptibility Symbol has a slash through the triangle. The ESD Protective Symbol has no slash through the triangle, but has an arc over it. This symbol should be (or might be required) to be on EPA ESD protective products identifying a specialty product that has at least one ESD control property.

Q2. What is the minimum voltage for ESD?

A2: 3,000 volts

Q3. What is ESD level?

A3: ESD Classes

ESD Class Sensitivity

ESD Class 0 <250 Volts

ESD Class 1 250 to 1999 volts

ESD Class 2 2000 to 3999 volts

ESD Class 3A 4000 to 7999 volts

Q4. How important is ESD protection?

A4: ESD protection is a vital consideration when working with sensitive electronic components and assemblies. ESD stands for electrostatic discharge and refers to sudden releases of built-up static electricity. This common phenomenon can damage electronic parts if not guarded against.

Q5. Where is ESD protection required?

A5: The most common points of electrostatic discharge (ESD) entry include USB, HDMI®, power supply, and other connector ports. ESD also enters from an antenna with exposed metal surfaces. TVS diodes must be connected to all the data and power lines that need to be protected from ESD.
