Product performance:

1.Ni-Cd battery has high charge and discharge efficiency and good safety performance at high temperature and has long service life under condition of long term floating charge, which makes it very suitable for emergency lighting application.

2.Working temperature for Ni-Cd battery could be up to 55 degree, and even up to 70 degree, and expected service life could be up to 4 to 5 years.

3. Wide range temperature adaptability.Ordinary nickel cadmium batteries can be used in high or low temperature environment. High temperature batteries can be used at temperatures of 70 degrees Celsius or higher.

4. Reliable safety valve. The safety valve provides maintenance free function. Nickel cadmium battery can be used freely in the process of charge discharge or storage. Due to the special material used in the sealing ring and the effect of sealant, the leakage phenomenon of Ni Cd battery is rare.

Advantages of Ni-Cad Batteries:

Operating temperature range of -4 - 158°F

No sulfation associated with nickel cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries

No shedding/loss of plate material

The best battery available for abusive or harsh environments

Low internal resistance

High rate charge and discharge rates are possible

Up to 10C discharge rates for short periods typical

Flat discharge characteristic (but falls off rapidly at the end of the cycle)

Tolerates deep discharges - can be deep cycled

Ni-Cd Battery Cell Performance:

1. Ni-Cd Cell Charge Curve At 0.1C For 16h At 55 Degree

2. Ni-Cd Cell Discharge Curve At 0.25C At 55 Degree

3. Ni-Cd Cell Charge Efficiency At Different Temperature

4. Ni-Cd Cell Capacity Change At Permanent Charge At 55 Degree (0.05C Floating)

5. Ni-Cd Cell Cycle Life Curve

Replacing batteries in self-contained emergency lighting is crucial for ensuring its functionality during power outages or emergencies.

Here's a general guide on how to replace these batteries:

1.Safety Precautions: Before starting, ensure the power to the unit is off. If it's connected to the mains, switch off the circuit breaker or disconnect the power source to avoid electric shock.

2.Access the Battery Compartment: Depending on the model, you may need to remove a cover or open a compartment to access the batteries. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for your specific model.

3.Remove Old Batteries: Carefully remove the old batteries from the compartment. Pay attention to their orientation, noting which end is positive (+) and which is negative (-).

4.Dispose of Old Batteries: Properly dispose of the old batteries according to local regulations. Most communities have battery recycling programs to handle old batteries safely.

5.Select Replacement Batteries: Choose replacement batteries that match the specifications of the original ones. This includes the correct voltage, capacity, and size. Using incompatible batteries can damage the device or cause it to malfunction.

6.Install New Batteries: Insert the new batteries into the compartment, ensuring they are oriented correctly with the positive and negative terminals aligned properly.

7.Close the Compartment: Securely close the battery compartment or replace the cover, ensuring it is properly sealed to prevent moisture or dust from entering.

8.Test the Unit: After replacing the batteries, turn the power back on and test the emergency lighting to ensure it functions correctly. This may involve performing a manual test or waiting for an automatic test cycle, depending on the unit.

9.Regular Maintenance: Periodically inspect the emergency lighting system to ensure it is in good working condition. Replace batteries as needed and keep the unit clean and free of debris.

10.Document the Replacement: Keep a record of when the batteries were replaced and any other maintenance tasks performed on the emergency lighting system. This helps track its performance and ensures timely replacements in the future.
