Braided Elastic

Braided elastic has obvious lengthwise, parallel ridges. Those ridges is the Rubber thread in the core, which makes the elastic has more “grip” but they also mean that braided elastic will narrow when stretched. This is the biggest difference from other elastic.

In some cases, the Braided elastic gives some sense of premium quality, as braided elastic would still stay as whole, you would see any empty space when the elastic is pulled. So you will notice Braided Elastic is noticed to use on Stationery, Umbrella,price tag hanging, Body Ware device, Medical application etc.

Braided elastic also rolls more easily than woven or knitted elastics, and tends to lose stretch if it is sewn through. For this reason braided elastic is typically recommended for use in casings, not for sewing directly to fabric.
