Insulin syringe is an essential tool for insulin treatment of diabetes patients. The correct use method can ensure the effective absorption and therapeutic effect of insulin.
Here are some precautions for using insulin injectors:
Firstly, select the appropriate injection site. Common injection
sites include the abdomen, outer thighs, buttocks, and upper arms.
Different sites should be selected for each injection to avoid
tissue damage caused by repeated injections of the same site.
Before using the syringe, clean the injection area with a cleaning
agent and then dry it with a cotton ball. This can reduce the
number of bacteria on the skin surface and reduce the risk of
infection.
3. Unscrew the protective cap on the syringe and confirm the
insulin dosage of the syringe. According to the doctor's
suggestion, adjust the scale on the dosage selector to ensure the
accuracy of the injected insulin dose.
4. Insert the needle into the fat layer beneath the skin. When
injecting, the needle should be kept at a 90 degree angle to the
skin. The syringe should be gently and steadily pushed into the
skin to ensure that insulin is injected into the subcutaneous
tissue.
5. After injecting insulin, keep the needle in the subcutaneous
tissue for 2-3 seconds to ensure complete injection of insulin.
Then slowly pull out the needle to avoid vascular damage and
insulin leakage.
6. Gently press the injection site with a cotton ball to help stop
bleeding and reduce local reactions.
After the injection is completed, place the syringe in a dedicated
waste container to prevent the spread of infection.
In short, the correct use of insulin injectors can ensure the safe
and effective use of insulin. If you have any confusion or problems
with the use, you should consult a doctor or professional medical
personnel for guidance.
The usage of insulin is as follows:
The first step is to prepare yourself, clean your hands before
operation, and determine the meal time.
Step 2: Prepare insulin and check the dosage form and injection
volume of pancreatic islets; Prepare alcohol, medical swabs, and
insulin syringes.
Step 3: Select the injection site. The suitable areas for
subcutaneous insulin injection include the abdomen, outer thighs,
outer arms, and buttocks.
Step 4: Install the insulin injection pen needle and exhaust.
Step 5: Use a 75% alcohol cotton swab to disinfect the skin at the
injection site.
Step 6: Quickly insert an insulin needle into the skin and confirm
that most of the needle enters the skin.
Step 7: Slowly inject insulin, and the needle should remain
subcutaneous for 10 seconds after injection.
Step 8: Quickly pull out the needle and press a dry cotton swab
onto the injection site.
