An immediate denture is a complete denture or partial denture inserted on the same day, immediately following the removal of natural teeth. Designed to restore and replace all missing teeth, they can be made either in all acrylic or with metal and acrylic.
Dentures that are press packed and heat cured have been the reliable standard for years. Heat curing provides the maximum strength and fit.
A full denture is retained by the peripheral seal.
In order for the prosthesis to become part of the patient, the restored teeth must be as individual as the patient. Implant-supported overdentures greatly assist retention, particularly in the mandibular arch.
