Description

Black oxidation treatment is a common method of chemical surface treatment. Where parts need to be run-in, the wear-resistant surface can sacrifice the external lubricating layer during initial contact and wear, and at the same time form a work-hardened surface. The Mohs hardness of the oxide film itself is 5.5.
