Ⅰ. Introduction
Damping Cylinder is an effective way to control the speed of the piston. It works by restricting the exiting flow and ensuring that the incoming flow achieves the maximum pressure. This process can be carried out by changing the area of the orifice and the profile of the cushioning bush.
It can cause a shock wave at the end of its stroke. Cushioning can reduce the shock by reducing the amount of air trapped in the cylinder. The concept is simple: the fluid exits the cap end through a large opening. Fluid then exits through a smaller opening. The air pressure in the cap end is adjusted by a needle valve, and this sets back the pressure in the cylinder. The force created by this movement slows the piston, causing it to stop. This system provides the best cushioning for the cylinder, minimizing the pressure shock in the main hydraulic circuit.
