Product Description:
A high-pressure injection pump is a crucial component in a diesel
engine's fuel system. It is responsible for delivering fuel to the
engine cylinders at the precise moment and under high pressure. The
high pressure allows for efficient combustion and power generation
in diesel engines.
There are different types of high-pressure injection pumps used in
diesel engines, including:
Common Rail Injection Pump: Common rail systems have become the
standard in modern diesel engines. The injection pump supplies fuel
to a common rail, which is then distributed to individual
injectors. The common rail pump generates high pressure, typically
in the range of 1,000 to 2,500 bar (14,500 to 36,000 psi), and
ensures precise fuel delivery and atomization.
Unit Injector/Unit Pump: This type of injection system combines the
pump and injector into a single unit. Each cylinder has its own
unit injector or unit pump, which is cam-driven and operates at
high pressure. Unit injectors/pumps are commonly used in older
diesel engines and some medium to heavy-duty applications.
Distributor Injection Pump: This pump is primarily used in older
diesel engines. It operates using a mechanical linkage that
distributes fuel to individual injectors. The distributor injection
pump pressurizes the fuel to high levels, typically between 1,000
and 1,500 bar (14,500 to 21,750 psi), before delivering it to the
injectors.
