overview
(1) The hardness of CBN is second only to diamond, and the wear
resistance is 10 to 20 times that of cemented carbide tools, and
3-5 times that of ceramic tools;
(2) The heat resistance of CBN can reach 1400℃ -1500 ℃, and the
oxidation resistance does not react with the iron series metal at
1200~1300°C high temperature. Therefore, the processing efficiency
can be 3-5 times higher than carbide and ceramic tools, and
high-speed processing can be achieved;
(3) CBN has excellent thermal conductivity, excellent heat
resistance, wear resistance, and impact toughness, which can meet
heavy duty cutting, high-speed processing, intermittent processing,
continuous processing and other processing methods.
(4) At present, CBN tools have been widely used in the processing
of hardened steel, chilled cast iron, thermal spray materials, pure
nickel and other difficult materials and precision machining, and
have achieved significant technical and economic benefits.
PCBN applicable processing materials:
PCBN is mainly suitable for processing a variety of high hard
materials such as: cold work tool steel, hot work tool steel, high
hard steel, bearing steel, hardened steel, powder smelting steel,
powder smelting metal, martensitic stainless steel, high strength
steel, high manganese steel, white cast iron, austenitic soft iron
and so on. Soft materials and wear-resistant materials such as:
gray cast iron, sintered iron, etc. Hard to process materials such
as: surface hardening alloy, sintered WC, ductile iron, IGI, etc.
Characteristics of polycrystalline cubic boron nitride PCBN:
The best tool material known for both high hardness and high
temperature resistance.
It goes through high temperature and high pressure twice in the
manufacturing process
1. Under high temperature and pressure, hexagonal boron nitride
(HBN) is converted into cubic boron nitride (CBN).
2. Then cubic boron nitride micro-nanocrystal powder and binder
were synthesized into polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN)
under high temperature and pressure.
PCBN is chemically inert and will not react with ferrous metals at
high temperatures
1. Used for processing cast iron
2. Used for processing high hardness, high wear resistant alloy
cast iron and casting high speed steel
3. Used for processing hardened steel
4. Used for processing difficult materials, such as: superalloy,
tungsten carbide, etc.
Processing materials: For ferrous metals with extremely stable
chemical properties, hardened steel (45-60HRC), bearing steel
(60-62HRC) high-speed steel (>62HRC) tool steel (57-60HRC),
chilled cast iron out and fine turning, can be realized to replace
grinding, greatly improve processing efficiency.
Processing life: fracture toughness, high hardness and toughness,
good wear resistance and strong collapse resistance.
