MAP Pressure Sensor 1 Year Warranty ≤1ms Response Time
A Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor is used to measure the intake manifold pressure, usually found near the throttle body or on the inlet manifold. The sensor provides the Engine Control Unit (ECU) with intake manifold pressure readings, helping the ECU to assess air density, compute the air-fuel mixture, determine engine load, manage fuel injection cadence and control ignition timing. Besides the aforementioned uses, a MAP Sensor makes for excellent diagnostic tool in certain cases, such as when used to inspect for a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or to - when used together with other sensors - detect a failing EGR valve.
Failure of MAP Sensors could be attributed to various causes such as contamination, obstruction, damage done by heat or vibration. Signs of a worn out MAP Sensor could be starting problems, knocking sounds, excessive fuel consumption, low engine power or the activation of the Check Engine Light.
