Copper Clad Steel (CCS) Solid Wire use for Coaxial Cable inner Conductor

CCS wire use the cladding or plating craft to make copper around the steel coil to create atom bonds between the two matals, it can be process like a single metal, when pullng out, annealing, drawing the copper and steel proportion to the diameter changes, but copper layer remains the same. Due to the high frequency signal has a "hasten skin effect" characteristic, therefore copper coated aluminum wire and copper clad steel wire in the high frequency signal transmission(more than 5MHz). The conductivity is the same as pure copper wire.

According to the skin effect principle of transmitting high frequency signal, in order to coat a copper layer on the surface of steel core wire, the cost and weight of the product are reduced without reducing the electrical performance, and the tensile strength of the conductor is also increased. When the frequency is higher than 10MHz, the resistance of copper-clad steel wire is almost the same as that of solid copper wire, and the mechanical strength is three times of that of solid copper wire. Therefore, copper-clad steel is commonly used as the inner conductor of MINIATURE RF coaxial cable. According to the conductivity, it can be divided into 21% IACS, 30% IACS and 40% IACS. At the same time, it can be divided into hard state (H) and soft state (a) according to annealing.
