Product Description

Steam distribution headers are fabricated out of carbon steel or alloy steel seamless tubes. Customized or tailor made items are offered. Headers, after fabrication, are stress relieved to make the Steam distribution headers free from stresses. They are big pipe headers that transfer water from the downcomers to the risers through a combustion zone where the water gets partially heated to steam from the heat of fuel combustion.

 

Operation

In bringing a boiler on the line with other boilers on a header system,certain precautionss are necessary to avoid water hammer and excessive temperature gradients in the piping. Adequate drainage and warming of the piping will eliminate the risk of water hammer. The judicious use of bypass valves around main header valves will avoid steep temperature gradients. Header drains should be operated. The steam line from the boiler to the header should be brought up to temperature by operating bypass and drain valves. When up to temperature and line pressure, the header valve may be opened wide and the bypass closed.

1Headers form an important part of all types of boilers.

3This pressure may vary from 300 psi to 2000 psi. Since headers are always under pressure, the utmost care is taken by us while fabricating them.
4Depending on the generating capacity of the boiler the header sizes fabricated by us vary from 100 mm to 600 mm NB. The stubs of various sizes are very carefully welded to the main body of the header to provide the desired openings from the header.

2. Low-alloy thermal resistant steel:15CrMoG,12Cr1MoVG,SA-335P12,SA335-P22,etc.

3. Middle-alloy thermal resistant steel:SA-335P91,etc.

4. Special material(ultra-supercritical):SA-335P122,SA-335P92,etc.

The boiler headers have water wall header,superheater header,economizer header and so on. It acts action of gathering, mixing and redistribution in boiler systems. In structure, they include end cover hinders or necking hinders.
