In order to improve the efficiency of boilers, cylindrical boilers
are gradually developed into tubular boilers to increase the heat
transfer area.
The water from the pot barrel flows into the lower box through the
downspout, which is distributed to each tube bundle. The water in
these tube bundles continuously absorbs heat energy and collects in
the upper box before flowing back into the pot barrel.
We call the upper and lower box box or header box.
Header (also known as header), is an important part of the boiler,
divided into upper header and lower header.
Functions
The collecting box is a kind of tube for mixing working substance
of boiler and ensuring uniform heating of working substance.
Industrial boiler furnace wall is usually composed of rows and rows
of tubes (water wall) together, but boiler huge volume, complicated
structure, cannot guarantee that all the working medium in the pipe
of heat absorption capacity is the same, different parts of heat
absorption differs a lot, install header can let each pipe working
medium inside converge here, the redistribution to the next level
in the tube, so that we can reduce the thermal deviation, make the
working medium heat, cooling flow, boiler, the boiler thermal
efficiency are optimized to improve;
In addition, the size, quantity and layout of the pipes in the
upper, middle and lower parts of the boiler are different.
Attention
The pressures and temperatures that headers have to withstand depend on the component to which they are connected. A header connected to an economizer or to water wall panels is subject to less severe requirements on the material than a header connected to superheaters or reheaters.
Depending on the temperature and pressure of headers, Vallourec
supplies tubes in carbon steel to high-alloy ferritic steels such
as T/P91 or T/P92, with sizes ranging from 88.9 mm to 406.4 mm.
