IEC 60332 Metal Enclosure Flammability Testing Equipment For Vertical Flame Ignition Source Comply With IEC60695-11-2

 

Product information:

This apparatus conforms to the standard requirement of IEC60332-1-1 Tests on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions – Part 1-1: Test for vertical flame propagation for a single insulated wire or cable – Apparatus, IEC60332-1-2, IEC60332-1-3.

 

Application:

It is applicable for vertical combustion test of the single electric wire or cable. It is used to measure the combustion characteristic of insulation. The burning time can be preset according to the specimen. It is convenient to adjust the flame height.

 

Feature:

The test apparatus shall comprise the following:

a) a metal enclosure;

b) an ignition source;

c) a suitable chamber.

A metal enclosure (1 200 ± 25) mm high, (300 ± 25) mm wide and (450 ± 25) mm deep with open front and closed top and bottom, (see Figure 1 ), shall be used, in order to protect the test sample from draughts. It shall be constructed of rigid sheet metal.

 

The ignition source shall comply with IEC 60695-11 -2, which includes a method of confirmation of the test flame, except that the laboratory fumehood/chamber shall comply the below:

 

The metal enclosure and ignition source shall be contained within a suitable chamber, substantially free from draughts during the test duration, but with facilities for disposing of noxious gases resulting from burning. The chamber shall be maintained at a temperature of (23 ± 1 0) °C.
