Smelting Furnace 1690 1730 Degrees Clay Refractory Brick

Definition:

Fire Resistant Clay Fire Bricks is made from clinker clay by mixing, forming, drying, sintering and matching characterized by good resistance to corrosion and abrasion, good thermal shock resistance, good spelling resistance, high mechanical strength, good volume stability under very high temperature.

The resistance of Fire Resistant Clay Fire Bricks is comparable to that of silica bricks, up to 1690~1730℃, but the softening temperature under load is more than 200℃ lower than that of silica bricks. In addition to the high refractory mullite crystals, the Fire Resistant Clay Fire Bricksalso contain nearly half of the low melting point amorphous glass phase.
In the temperature range less than1000℃, the volume of clay brick expands evenly with the increase of temperature. The linear expansion curve is approximately a straight line, and the linear expansion rate is 0.6%~0.7%, which is only about half of that of silica brick.

When the temperature reaches 1200 ℃ and going on rise, its volume will start to shrink from the maximum expansion.

The residual shrinkage of Fire Resistant Clay Fire Bricksleads to the loosening of mortar joints in masonry, which is a major disadvantage of Fire Resistant Clay Fire Bricks.

When the temperature exceeds 1200°C, the low melting point substances in the clay bricks gradually melt, and the particles are tightly pressed against each other due to surface tension, resulting in volume shrinkage.

Advantage:

1. High refractoriness,

2. High-temperature endurable.

3. Good corrosion resistance.

4. Good spalling resistance and wear resistance.

5. Good thermal shock resistance.

6. High mechanical strength.

7. High-temperature creep rate is low.

8. Good volume stability at high temperature.

Application:

The refractory linings of hot surfaces or backing heat-insulating layers of other refractory materials. The refractory linings or heat-insulating materials of the industrial furnaces in the petroleum or chemical industries , such as , ethylene pyrolysis furnaces, tubular furnaces, reforming furnaces of synthetic ammonia, gas generators and high-temperature shuttle kilns, etc.
