A curtain wall is a non-structural building envelope that is intended to support only its own weight
and withstand the effects of environmental forces such as wind. It
is not intended to support the weight of a roof or floor. Instead,
gravity loads and wind resistance transfer from the surface to the
building’s floor line. Since it is non-structural, it can be made of lightweight materials
- glass and aluminum profiles to help reduce construction costs. We
offer a variety of glass products that allows architects and designers to control every aspect of
aesthetics and performance, including thermal and solar control,
sound and security as well as colour, light and glare.
There are two main types of curtain walling construction: “stick”
and “unitised”. In stick construction, the curtain wall frame is
constructed mainly on site with mullions and transoms supporting
glass, spandrel panels, metal panels and brise-soleils, connected
piece by piece. Each mullion is usually supported by the floor or
perimeter beams. In unitised construction, on the other hand, the
curtain wall is composed of large units that are assembled in the
factory, shipped to the site and erected on the building. Aluminium
profiles are used to form the frame, which is normally one-storey
high. Aluminium is typically used for facade frames because of its
strength and stability. It is also highly durable, moisture and
corrosion-resistant and 100% recyclable. Opening vents, glazing and
infill panels are built into units before being transported to
site. As with stick construction, each unit is usually supported by
the floor or perimeter beams.
Glass curtain walls are not exclusive to commercial applications.
They also provide viable glazing solutions for residences as well.
FAMOUS is ONE-STOP-SHOP for building envelopes, outer building skin
and premium FACADES. In addition to high performing glasses,
aluminum frames and other accessories, Famous' professionals are

Ceramic Fritted Glass for Curtain Wall
Ceramic Fritting is a process by which glass enamel is fused on the glass surface. Before the glass is heat strengthened or tempered, Ceramic frit is applied to the glass through a fine mesh screen with glass enamel. After tempering or heat strengthening, the glass enamel becomes a permanent coating which cannot be further damaged or removed by cleaning, scrubbing, etc. Silk-screening is done by printing a layer of ceramic ink on the glass surface through a screen mesh. When silk-screened glass is combined with clear, tinted, Low-E, or reflective glass, it can control light transmittance and reduce solar heat gain while enhancing aesthetic and performance characteristics, giving strength, safety, privacy, decoration and solar control in one product.
Though normally suitable for IGUs, Ceramic frit glass can be used for both exterior and interior applications such as curtain walls, point fixed or bolted glazing systems, shower installations, glass doors and partitions. When used on building exteriors, the painted surface must be protected from direct contact with the environment.
We offer a wide range of colours and designs that fully or partially cover the surface of the glass for facade. Accept wholesale or OEM business. If you have interest, please contact us and tell us about your project by email or phone. We are happy to talk about estimates and our capabilities for Residential, Commercial and Custom Glass work.
