Electronic and electrical products are sold to the United States,
and you need to apply for FCC certification, and mark the FCC. FCC
is the abbreviation of FEDERAL COMMUNICATION COMMISSION. It is a
test certification for electromagnetic compatibility. The US FCC
has control over electromagnetic interference generated by
electronic products with a working frequency above 9KHZ.
There are three main ways of FCC certification:
1. FCC VERIFICATION self-certification
Mainly for products including: AV products, corded phones, ordinary
household appliances, etc., and for digital devices other than PC
and PC peripherals.
Certification method: The product can complete a self-confirmed
report in an FCC-accredited laboratory.
2. FCC DOC self-declaration
Mainly for products including: IT products, especially for PC and
PC peripherals.
Certification method: For products within the above range, the
manufacturer must be registered with the FCC and obtain A2LA
(American Laboratory Accreditation Association) or NVLAP (National
Laboratory Accreditation)
Certificate System) Authorized laboratory test. After the product
has passed the test, the DOC and test report are obtained, and the
manufacturer can
The product is marked with the FCC logo and sold to the US market.
3. FCC CERTIFICATION certificate
Mainly for products including: R&TTE products, PC and PC
peripherals.
Certification method: The product needs to be tested by the
FCC-approved test room. After obtaining the test report, the
technical information of the product is compiled, including:
product details photo, block diagram, user manual
Etc., sent to the FCC TCB test room along with the test report. The
FCC TCB Test Room confirms that all information is correct and
issues a certificate.
For customers who apply for FCC CERTIFICATION for the first time,
they must first apply to the FCC for a number - GRANTEE CODE. After
the product has passed the test and certification, the FCC ID
number is marked on the product and can be sold to the US market.
FCC ID application process:
To apply for an ID, first apply for an FRN to fill in other forms.
If the applicant is applying for the FCC ID for the first time,
they will need to apply for a permanent Grantee Code. While waiting
for the FCC to approve the distribution to the applicant Grantee
Code, the applicant should take the time to test the equipment. The
FCC should have approved the Grantee Code when all FCC required
materials have been prepared and the test report has been
completed. The applicant completed the FCC Form 731 and Form 159
online using this Code, test report and required materials. After
receiving the Form 159 and the remittance, the FCC will begin
accepting applications for certification. At the end of the call,
the FCC will send the original Grant of the FCC ID to the
applicant. Once the applicant has obtained the certificate, the
product can be sold or exported.
