ACSR 240/40mm2 (26/3.45mm, 7/2.68mm) aluminum conductor steel reinforced IEC61089, EN50182 are widely used for long distance power transmission as they are ideal for long overhead line spans. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding for desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity. The proportion of steel and aluminium in an ACSR conductor can be selected based on the mechanical strength and current carrying capacity demanded by each application.
