Factors Affecting Wire Drawing
1. Copper and aluminum rod (wire) materials. When other conditions are the same, the tensile force of pulling copper wire is greater than that of pulling aluminum wire, and the aluminum wire is easy to break, so a larger safety factor should be taken when pulling aluminum wire.
2. Tensile strength of the material. There are many factors affecting the tensile strength of materials, such as the chemical composition of materials, calendering process, etc. if the tensile strength is high, the tensile force is large.
3. Degree of deformation. The greater the degree of deformation, the longer the length of the deformation section in the die hole, which increases the positive pressure of the die hole on the line, the friction force and the tensile force.
4. Friction coefficient between wire rod and die hole. The greater the friction coefficient, the greater the tensile force. The friction coefficient is determined by the finish of wire and die materials, the composition and quantity of lubricating fluid.
5. Size and shape of working area and sizing area of wire die hole. The larger the sizing area, the greater the tensile force.
6. Position of wire mould. The drawing force will also be increased if the wire die is not placed correctly or the die seat is skewed. It is also that the wire diameter and surface quality do not meet the standard.
7. External factors. If the wire is not straight, the jitter of the center line in the drawing process and the setting out resistance will increase the tensile force.
