A PC-based system that can be a vision control box, an industrial PC, or a vision server with accelerator options and vision analysis software; the new smart camera provides a compact base computing node for machine vision applications. Its processing speed is comparable to PC-based systems, and configuration and setup are flexible and easy.


A PC-based vision system consists of a PC with an operating system and one or more cameras.

A PC is connected to the camera via a frame grabber or Ethernet card to import images. Software applications on the PC then analyze the images and can make judgments and decisions based on the data, and then send this decision data (such as quality pass or fail information) to other systems.
The smart factory of the future will use machine vision and data analysis to fully control factory operations.
