Beethoven
Beethoven wrote nine sonatas for violin. This is the fifth sonata in F major, Op. 24, written in 1801,
within the first 10 years of his arrival in Vienna, and it's part
of his earlier and later work. At this time, Beethoven was already 31 years old, his creative
skills have become mature, his personality has been basically
formed, so he is very passionate about life, in this "F major
Sonata" fully reflected.
In 1801, Beethoven was in very bad health. For several years he had
an ear disease that went on and on. It still caused him pain. However, Beethoven was not so pessimistic and disappointed, as he
himself said: "the artist is a fire, he does not cry", noble
sentiment so that he wrote full of youth and optimism "SONata in F
major". The theme of all four movements of this work is gorgeous, sweet as
the spring of the temperament, so people called the spring Sonata.
In this "Spring Sonata", the piano part is very wonderful, it is
not subordinate to the violin position, but with the violin,
competing with each other, singing together, like a pair of lovers
duet, sing the song of youth.
First movement, allegro, in 4/4 time, sonata form.
The melody begins with a lyrical and fluent first theme played by
the violin in the soft dissolving chords of the piano. Then the piano moves through a row of ascending scales, repeating
the first theme:
After the piano has played the theme in its entirety, the violin
continues to follow the accompaniment with even broken chords. Then, after a few weak passages, the violin suddenly burst into a
strong burst of intensity, and played a second theme passionately
in C major:
1121220552
This theme has youthful vigor and passion. Such passion is indeed rare in the previous violin works of Mozart
and Haydn, fully reflecting Beethoven's strong will and noble
character to love life, which all come from his ambition for life,
he once said: "I really want to embrace the world".
The development of the movement through several tonal changes, the
music is sometimes soft lyrical, sometimes uplifting, very vivid
picture of a spring garden, peach and plum competition scene.
In the recapitalization section, the first theme is played by the
piano before being handed over to the violin. The second theme goes back to F major. The music in the closing section is very strong, and the music ends
in a spirited atmosphere.
Movement 2 in bB major, 3/4 time, variations in freestyle.
It's a very expressive lyrical movement. The theme is played by the piano first, the violin gives the echo
of dialogue type, and then the theme is repeated by the violin
again, when it is time to leave, as if in a quiet atmosphere to
talk cordially.
In the middle, when the theme is shifted to bG major, the rhythm
changes slightly, making the music especially tender and lyrical. Finally back to bB tune, the theme motive also faintly appeared,
resulting in a quiet atmosphere, as if to bring into the beautiful
garden, enjoy the garden of spring.
Third movement, in F major, 3/4 time, very fast allegro.
It is a brisk scherzo written in a trilogy.
This movement is very well written. The theme is full of youthful vitality:
1121221033
Fourth movement, in F major, in time 2/2, allegro.
The fourth movement is written in rondo form. The theme is elastic and dynamic, full of youthful breath:
1121221343
This rondo theme appears four times in total, and two intersections
are added in the middle of the theme repetition as a comparative
supplement. But all the complementary contrasts are meant to highlight the
theme, to make it more brilliant. At the end, the music ends in a vigorous competition between violin
and piano.

The “other” Chinese violins: Distinguished Chinese violin makers
working in the shadow of the factories. An overview of the best
violin makers from China and Taiwan
Who are the best Chinese violin makers? China is most commonly
known for producing affordable instruments for beginners, and as a
matter of fact, industrial violin making is one of the fields in
which the Chinese economy has enjoyed remarkable international
successes. Certain parallels to other periods such as Saxonian violin making in the 19th and early 20th century are unmistakable, even though history never repeats itself.
Today’s Chinese violin-manufacturing sites are at the peak of their
global influence, much like the factories nearly a hundred years
ago in the “music corner” around Sch?nbach and Markneukirchen. We should not lose sight, however, of the excellent Chinese
violin makers and master violin makers amidst the vast majority of
simple Chinese violins; many of these luthiers practice traditional craftsmanship at
outstanding levels, and they are often successful entrepreneurs and
teachers as well. It is to be expected that the elite of Taiwanese
and Chinese violin makers -- and bow makers -- will enhance the
image of their art in the years ahead, much as luminaries like Ernst Heinrich Roth and Hermann Richard Pfretzschner did in their day. In this overview, we are pleased to present the
names, life and work of the best Chinese violin makers and
exceptional masters from the new world of Asian violin making.

Ten violin sonatas worth collecting
The number 2018-10-24
A violin sonata is a genre of work that features a solo violin,
usually accompanied by a keyboard instrument, most typically a
piano.
Because violin sonatas are considered chamber music and are usually
less prominent than violin concertos, they are a relatively
underrated part of the violin repertoire.
The following recommended violin sonatas do not represent an exact
ranking of the genre, but are just a personal observation: there
are many amazing sonatas to explore, both as a listener and as a
performer.
01
Mozart, Suite NO.17 for Violin K.296 in C Major
Mozart: Violin Sonata No. 17 in C Major, K.296
1778
Mozart began composing sonatas for violin at an early age and wrote
36 in his lifetime. He played the first 16 sonatas for violin at the young age of 6 to
10. But for more than a decade, Mozart was too busy writing other
genres to compose violin sonatas. It wasn't until he was 22 that Mozart began writing again in this
genre.
When he wrote Violin Sonata No. 17, Mozart was madly in love with
Arecia, the daughter of a palace singer. The second movement of this sonata, one of the most beautiful of
Mozart's violin sonatas, is graceful and soulful in its charm.
Recommended records:
Takako Nishizaki, Japanese violinist, accompanied by Jenő Jando,
Hungarian pianist

Beethoven "Kreutze" Violin Sonata in A Major No. 9
Ludwig Van Beethoven: Violin Sonata No.9 in A Major, "Kreutzer"
1812
Beethoven's "Violin Sonata" represents a very important part of the
violin repertoire. Of the ten sonatas published by Beethoven, Sonata no. 9 is perhaps
the most famous.
The depth and skill of the music, which is the hallmark of
Beethoven's mature style, make "Sonata for the Violin" a possible
candidate for the top 10 classical music charts of all time.
This complex and lengthy work in three movements is a tribute to
the French violinist Rudolf Kreutzer, although he never played it
and considered it unplayable.
It is worth mentioning that all of Beethoven's other "Sonatas for
violin" are, indeed, worth listening to. Try different violinists and you will be surprised and delighted by
what they can do.
