Hepa Air Filter Quick Details
1.Q: How do I know if my HEPA filter is dirty?
A: Open up the air purifier and remove the pre-filter. Your HEPA filter will have heavy clumps of dirt and dust and it'll look black if it's dirty. That's an indication that your filter needs cleaning or replacement.
2.Q: How do you clean a HEPA air filter?
A: Wash your HEPA filter with warm water and allow it to dry if your model specifically states that water cleaning is safe. You can also soak your filter in hot water if it is extremely dirty. Clean non-washable, permanent HEPA filters using a vacuum to remove dust and debris.
Despite manufacturers' claims, ozone air purifiers don't remove
asthma triggers from the air. In fact, inhaled ozone can make
asthma worse.
Ozone generators sold as air purifiers intentionally produce the
gas ozone. Ozone can mask odors by changing the chemical
composition of particles or other gasses in the air, making the air
seem fresher and cleaner. However, ozone generators don't actually
filter out the small particles that trigger asthma.
Inhaling ozone, even in small amounts, can irritate the lungs.
Specific effects may include throat irritation, coughing, chest
pain and shortness of breath, as well as an increased risk of
respiratory infections.
Some ozone air purifiers are made with an ion generator, sometimes
called an ionizer, in the same unit. You can also buy ionizers as
separate units. Ionizers do remove particles from the air. They do
this by causing particles to attach to nearby surfaces or to each
other and settle out of the air — but they may generate unwanted
ozone.
Air filters that remove small particles — such as high-efficiency
particulate air (HEPA) filters — are effective in removing
allergens from the air, without posing any ozone concerns. To work
effectively, filters need to be cleaned or replaced regularly,
according to the manufacturer's instructions.

HEPA FILETER DESCRIPTION
High efficiency particulate air Filter With an efficiency of 99.7 percent for 0.1 microns and 0.3 microns, the HEPA net is designed to allow air to pass through, but not fine particles.
It CAN REMOVE MORE THAN 99.97% OF PARTICLES with a diameter OF 0.3 micron (1/200 of the diameter of a hair), and is the most effective filter medium for pollutants such as smoke, dust and bacteria.
