Description Of The Polymer Switch PTC Resettable Fuse 6V 1.2A
A: JK6 series PTC self-recovery fuses have a rated working voltage
of 6-16V and a rated holding current of 0.75A-3.0A. The series
products are suitable for circuits with low working voltage and
relatively small working current, such as computers, computer
peripheral toy industries, etc. field.
B: JK6 series of Polymer PTC self-resettable fuse (Polymer PTC
Restoring Fuse) is a new-generation of overcurrent protection
product, its function corresponds to the self-resettable and
repeatedly-usable fuse,being used to protect circuit from damage by
high current and having such superiorities as automatic reset,high
security, short restoring time, fine performance of low resistance
to strong current as well as little volume.they can be used in
communication exchanger, main distributing frame, computer mouse,
keyboard, micromotor,transformer, audio, battery and other
electrical equipment as well as circuits, to play the role
overcurrent protection.
C: The resistance of PTCs rises as the temperature rises. With this
feature, the value change of resistance is not obvious when
the safe current passes, the resistance value changes drastically
when abnormal current passes, this reaches the purpose of
limiting abnormal current, the resistance value will “reset”
automatically when the abnormality is eliminated and
temperature returns to a safe level . It is an ideal choice for
equipment with frequent abnormal over-current flowing area.
PPTC often used in consumer electronics, power
lines, telecommunications, I/O connectors, process control and
medical equipment.

resettable fuses:
1. List the average working current (I) and voltage (V.) of the
circuit.
2. Select the JKPPTC series according to the I, V , product’s type
and the form of installation.
3. If the inner temperature of device is over 25°C, the current
through the JKPPTC element will decrease along with the
temperature rise. The holding current can calculate as follows
according to discount rate: IH=operating current (I) ÷
discount rate .
4. According to the JKPPTC series ,which selected in step 2 and the
IH calculated in step 3,choose the proper element in the
catalogue,the IH of the selected JKPPTC must be equal or greater
than the IH calculated in step 3.
