ASTM A249 TP304 Stainless steel condenser welded tube

SS Condenser Tubes are designed specifically for the role in heating, cooling or reheating of fluids and gases. Precision tubes are commonly used in thermal and nuclear power stations as well as chemical processing plants. SS Condenser Tube has a number of standard sizes and grades such as 304/304L and 316/316L

Stainless Steel Condenser Tube is widespread in heat exchangers, from being part of a condenser and evaporator refrigeration cycle in a chiller to condensing steam in surface condensers and everything in between. Generally, the Stainless Steel Condenser Tubing is commonly manufactured with an O.D. of 3/4", 5/8" and 1". SS Condenser tubes can also be internally and externally enhanced to further increase their efficiency.

Our seamless and welded drawn tubes range in size from under 0.010” (1/4 mm) right up to 1.5” (38.1mm) outside diameter, and we can produce finished wall thicknesses down to less than 0.002” (0.05 mm) through to 0.150” (3.8mm).

You can order straight lengths of tubing from us up to 45ft (14m) long or coiled tubes up to 3,200ft (975m) in length.

1. Flattening Test

One flattening test shall be made on specimens from each end of one finished tube, not the one used for the flaring test, from each lot.

 

2. Flange Test

One flange test shall be made on specimens from each end of one finished tube, not the one used for the flattening test, from each lot.

 

3. Reverse-Bend Test

One reverse-bend test shall be made on a specimen from each 1500 ft [450 m] of finished tubing.

 

4. Hydrostatic or Nondestructive Electric Test

Each tube shall be subjected to either the hydrostatic or the nondestructive electric test. The purchaser may specify which test is to be used.

 

5. Grain Size

Grain size determinations on grades TP309H, TP309HCb, TP310H and TP310HCb shall be made on the same number of tubes as prescribed for the flattening test.

 

6. Markings

In addition to the marking prescribed in Specification A 1016/A 1016M, the marking for Grades TP304H, TP309H, TP309HCb, TP310H, TP310HCb, TP316H, TP321H, TP347H, and TP348H shall also include the heat number and the heat-treatment lot identification.

 

Note:

  • Mill test certificates will be issued according to EN10204.3.

  • All tubes shall be supplied as per applicable ASTM A249 /A249M Specification.
