Although cold-rolled steel is the most common type of sheet steel, it is also used in other metals and alloys. Rolling steel sheets are also offered in different sizes, densities, and colors to facilitate manufacturing. Due to additional processes to produce a finished cold-rolled product, cold-rolled steel is expensive.
The raw materials for cold rolled profiles are steel bars, a semi-finished product. Cold-rolled sheets may be welded together or welded for ultimate strength and longevity. Cold-rolled is commonly used to describe a number of finishing processes, although cold rolling technically refers only to sheets compressed between rolling rolls.
