Stainless Steel Square Bar is made up of stainless steels. There are different grades such as 304 and 316 stainless steels and there are different specifications such as the ASTM 276 and 479. . The Stainless Steel 316 Box Bar is made up of similar material with added molybdenum to the composition which makes it more corrosion resistant than the 304 bar. The material has similar mechanical properties except for the improved corrosion resistance against salt water and chloride iron rich solutions.The square shape is geometrically stronger and can handle stress more than the round bars. So the material is used in pressure vessel applications and general corrosive services under specifications such as the ASTM A276 Stainless Steel 316 Square Bar. The different polishes such as the bright, black and polished ones give the bars unique application abilities. The weight of the material depends on the width, diameter, length and the density of the grade of material used. The 304 and 316 grades have 8 grams per centimeter cube density.
