A load cell (or loadcell) is a transducer which converts force into
a measurable electrical output. Although there are many varieties
of loadcells, strain gauge load cells are the most commonly used
type which is comprised of a solid metal body on which
strain gauges have been secured to form a wheatstone bridge which
delivers mV/V output.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of cylindrical load cell FFG is around
2.0mV/V.
Power supply of cylindrical load cell FFG is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of column type force sensor FFG is normally within 0-30mV(-30mV...+30mV for bidirectional
force measurement).
Example one: Miniature column load cell FFG-500N with
2.0mV/V rated output powered by 5V DC,the output range is
-10mV...+10mV.
Example two: Miniature cylindrical load cell
FFG-200N with 2.0mV/V rated output powered by 10V DC,the
output range is -20mV...+20mV.
A signal conditioner can be used to convert mV signal into
0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA for easy signal processing.
Example one: Flange type tension and compression Load
Cell FFG-100N working with amplifier FSC(-10-10V)-24V, the
load-voltage relationship will be 0-100N compression force VS
0-10V output, 0-100N tension force VS 0-(-10V) output.
Example two: Flange mounted column Load Cell FFG-2kN working with amplifier FSC(4-12-20mA)-24V, the load-current relationship will be 0-2000N compression force VS 12-20mA output, 0-2000N tension force VS 12-4mA output.
