Introduction

An expansion joint is a specially engineered product inserted in a rigid

piping system to achieve one or more of the following:
    »  Absorb movement
» Relieve system strain due to thermal change, load                  stress,    pumping surges, wear or settling
    »  Reduce mechanical noise
   »  Compensate for misalignment
»  Eliminate electrolysis between dissimilar metals

NOTES:

Dimensions are expressed in mm, and subjected to manufacturing tolerances. Data can be altered without notice by our Design Department for the product benefit.

* The stated movements are solely valid with the joint subject to a single movement direction. Values are proportionally reduced along with the movement combination.
* Given tolerance installed and movements allowed are valid for rubber bellows. For bellows with PTFE sleeve, values must be reduced by 1/2.
* Increasing temperatures reduce the permissible movements capacity and number of cycles.

About rubber materials
Flexible rubber joints can be manufactured from a range of elastomer materials including:
          »Chloro Butyl            »EPDM
          »Hypalon                  »Natural
          »Neoprene               »Nitrile (Buna-N)
The joints may consist entirely of the one type of rubber or a combination with one type of rubber as the inner ply and a different rubber as the outer cover.

We will select the appropriate rubber grade for your application from a wide variety of different blends depending on the composition of the medium and the operating temperature.
