Material:

 

1. EPDM Metering Pump Diaphragm is suitable for hygienic applications where the operating temperature does not exceed 100 ° C

EPDM - short for Ethylene - propylene - diene Monomer, its main characteristics for superior elasticity, oxidation resistance, ozone resistance and corrosion resistance, the film is suitable for polar material and steam, also hot water, cold water, alkaline medium and non-concentrated acid. The temperature range of EPDM is not as good as PTFE, and it is suitable for sanitary grade applications where the operating temperature does not exceed 100℃. For example, purified water systems. It should be noted that EPDM membrane is not recommended to be used for mineral oil, plant and animal lipids, aliphatic series or aromatic hydrocarbons, furnace solvents or concentrated acids, because EPDM will swell when encountering organic matter.

 

2. FKM is suitable for high thermal temperature and high chemical stability environment

FKM - is the abbreviation of fluorine rubber, refers to the main chain or side chain carbon atom containing fluorine on the synthetic polymer elastomer. In addition to the high elasticity characteristic of rubber, the introduction of fluorine atoms also gives fluorine rubber excellent heat resistance, oxidation resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance and atmospheric aging resistance.

 

3. PTFE is suitable for low and high temperature environment

Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer synthesized from Ethylene fluoride, which is a kind of fluoroplastic. The chemical inertia of PTFE can prevent cross-linking, so there is no "memory", that is, can not be restored to its original shape as elastomer, the material under tension will produce creep and deformation, the so-called "cold flow" phenomenon. PTFE has a wide range of temperature application (-200~260℃), with good extrusion resistance, corrosion resistance, no aging problem, water and ultraviolet resistance, no toxicity and other characteristics. When the temperature is above 130℃, the simple PTFE diaphragm will produce large deformation, resulting in deformation and damage of the diaphragm.

 

4. EPDM/ PTFE composite diaphragm is widely used in water for injection or pure steam and other high temperature sanitary conditions

It has both the high elasticity of EPDM and the corrosion resistance of PTFE. In the biological and pharmaceutical industry, only EPDM and PTFE (TFMTM) are available. At present, only these two materials meet the FDA certification and meet the various needs of this industry. TFMTM is the second generation of improved PTFE, which has better diffusion than the traditional PTFE. And has been as a standard for some manufacturers.
