HCM380B / HCM385B is a high-precision 3D compass sensor, and the protection reaches IP67 level. Using
advanced hard and soft iron calibration algorithms, make any tool surface with a roll angle of 360 ° can still provide
high-precision heading information. With the characteristics of small size and low power consumption, it is more suitable for today's miniaturized sensitive measurement systems. The product can be ordered with a complete sealed casing or a circuit board.
HCM380B / HCM385B integrates three-axis magnetic flux gate technology. It uses a central processing unit to calculate heading data in real time, and uses a three-axis accelerometer to compensate for a wide range of tilt angles. Measurement direction and installation requirements
Because the azimuth angle of HCM380B / HCM385B 3D compass is based on the principle of geomagnetism,
it is very important to choose an environmental installation location with minimum magnetic interference. Please install HCM380B /HCM385B as far away from iron, magnet, engine and other magnetic objects as possible. Even if there is such magnetic medium around, it needs to be controlled at least over a distance of 30cm (different magnetic fields have different distances to the compass interference). In order to ensure the best measurement environment, M3 anti-interference screw must be used during installation.HCM385B electronic compass provides 1 meter cable, and the optional cable can be 10 meters. The sensor cable should be as short as possible to obtain the minimum noise. Although HCM380B/HCM385B can compensate moderate deviation in a stable magnetic environment,it cannot compensate the changed magnetic interference. Pay special attention to the magnetic field produced by the wire with direct current, because if the direct current changes, the magnetic field size will also change. Batteries are another source of variation. Each installation is different and the user must evaluate the feasibility of the installation in all possible operating environments.
The optimal heading accuracy of HCM380B/HCM385B can reach 0.3 ° ~ 0.5 °. This is beyond doubt after strict verification. The most scientific test method is also crucial. We suggest test method is to install the HCM380B/HCM385B 3D compass on the vertically erected aluminum (non-magnetic other materials) rod to measure the heading accuracy (of course, the rotating rod is perpendicular to the rotating platform, so as to avoid the interference of large external magnetic field). In this way, the radius of compass rotation can be reduced and the measurement accuracy can be improved scientifically. This is only to provide the installation of the laboratory, which must be handled flexibly for the specific situation. For example: when installed on the vehicle, HCM380B/HCM385B should be installed perpendicular to the moving side .
