Air Bag description of Mud Pump Spare Parts

The function of the air bag capsule on the mud pump is to use the volume of the air bag itself to continuously store and compensate the liquid discharged to a part of the pump in the pipeline to reduce the passiveness due to the pumped liquid. When the instantaneous displacement of the mud pump increases above its average displacement, the instantaneous pressure in the discharge line rises, and the gas volume in the air bag is compressed.

Application
As the inhalation process is repeated, the air bag capsule is continuously pressed and stored alternately, and the flow velocity in the suction tube is automatically adjusted, thus plays the role of balancing the displacement and pressure in the pipeline.

Function:  1. Reduce pressure fluctuations and stabilize pressure.   2. Increase water horsepower.   3. Reduce lost circulation.

Installation position: Air chamber is installed at one end of the discharge pipe in the hydraulic end.

Working pressure: The working pressure of normal mud pump is 5000PSI, some high pressure mud pumps is 7500PSI.

The maintenance of the air bag
(1). Air bag inflator pressure is 30% of designed pump pressure, the general pressure is 4~6MPa , the best pressure is 4.5MPa
(2). Mud pump at the normal working hours, the air bag cutoff valve is closed to protect gauges

The air bag is divided into two types:
1.Discharge Air Bag: Reduce pump displacement and pressure fluctuation;

2.Suction Air Bag: Improve inhalation conditions and prevent cavitation.
