Silicon carbide rods, also known as silicon carbide heating element
is the use of high-quality green silicon carbide as the main raw
material, the processing system also, high-temperature
silicification, recrystallization of rod-shaped non-metallic
high-temperature heating components. Compared with the metal
heating element, silicon carbon rod has the characteristics of high
temperature, anti-oxidation, corrosion resistance, long life, small
deformation, easy installation and maintenance. Therefore, silicon
carbon rods are widely used in magnetic materials, powder
metallurgy, ceramics, glass, metallurgical and mechanical
industries such as a variety of high-temperature electric furnace
and other electric heating equipment. The ED type is the standard
SiC heating element. A high-density self-bonded silicon carbide
element, ED type is available in a large range of diameters and
lengths.
Function of protective film
When the element is used in the air at 800 ℃, it begins to oxidize.
When the temperature reaches 1000-1300 ℃, a layer of silica
protective film is formed on the surface of the heating part.
Cristobalite crystallizes at 1300 ℃, and the protective film
reaches a certain thickness at 1500 ℃, so that the oxidation speed
of the element becomes extremely slow and tends to be stable.

1, Silicon carbide heating element is one type of ceramic heating
elements,which use six-party high purity green SiC powder as the
main raw material.Silicon is recrystallized under 2200C high
temperature to form finished materials.The using temperature up to
1450C under oxidation atmosphere,and constant working life up to
2000 hours.It is widely used in various high temperature electric
furnaces and othe electric heating devices,such as in the
industries of magnet,ceramics,powder metallurgy,glass,metallurgy
and machinery,etc.
