1) Semi finished:

Free form laboratory requires accurate and stable base curve / radius / thickness of high quality semi-finished lenses. Substandard semi-finished lenses will result in a large waste of capacity, labor, click fees, delivery delays, etc., and the consequences will exceed the cost of semi-finished lenses.   1) A lens with only one of the two surfaces finished is called a semi finished lens because it is only half finished. It means that if you’re outside on a hot sunny day, but sitting in the shade, your lenses will be quicker to detect the diminished UV rays and lighten in color.
