Custom CNC Milling Parts Manufacturer Oem Machining Part Stainless Steel

CNC Machining Parts

CNC milling is a subtractive manufacturing process that begins by securing a block of metal or

plastic material within the CNC mill. Using G-code, the CNC machine is programmed to efficiently

mill out components from the raw material block. Our 3- and 5-axis CNC machines are equipped

with various toolsets to optimize efficiency and production speed.

Plastic machined parts are typically left in an as-milled state, which may exhibit visible tool marks.

Certain metal parts offer additional finishing options, such as anodizing and chromate plating.

Once the production run is finished and the desired surface finish is applied, the parts are promptly

packaged and shipped.

Product Details

Materials for CNC machining are typically classified into three major categories: plastics,

soft metals, and hard metals. Examples encompass aluminum, bronze, copper, ceramics,

plywood, steel, stone, wood, zinc, and various others.

Materials characterized by ease of manipulation and favorable properties are commonly

preferred over alternative options.

Common Materials for CNC Machining
MaterialProperties
Aluminum2024: Good fatigue resistance and strength; excellent toughness at moderate to high strength levels; improved fracture toughness
6061: Excellent machinability, low cost, and versatility
7075: High strength, hardness, low weight, and heat tolerance
Stainless SteelExcellent machinability and outstanding uniformity; good workability and weldability, high ductility and formability
Steel AlloyMix of chromium, molybdenum, and manganese yields toughness, good torsional and fatigue strength
BrassVersatile and highly attractive copper/zinc alloy with warm yellow color accommodates severe forming/drawing
TitaniumExcellent strength to weight ratio, used in aerospace, automotive, and medical industries
CopperHigh ductility and high electrical and thermal conductivity; develops attractive blue-green surface patina over time
ABSExcellent impact resistance, good mechanical properties, susceptible to solvents
PEEKHigh-performance thermoplastic, very high strength, thermal and chemical resistant
POMHigh stiffness, excellent thermal & electrical properties, relatively brittle

CNC Machining Tolerances

Tolerances are not standardized across all processes and materials.

The final tolerances on your part depend on various factors, such as part size, design complexity,

the number and size of features, materials used, surface finish, and the manufacturing process

employed.

Once your order is confirmed, we conduct a Design for Manufacturing review to identify areas that

may need modification for better manufacturability.

It's helpful if you can specify which areas in your design have critical tolerances that must be met

and which can be adjusted, if necessary, to optimize production time and cost.

CNC Milling Tolerances
Limits for nominal sizePlasticsMetals
0.5mm* to 3mm±0.1mm±0.05mm
Over 3mm to 6mm±0.1mm±0.05mm
Over 6mm to 30mm±0.2mm±0.10mm
Over 30mm to 120mm±0.3mm±0.15mm
Over 120mm to 400mm±0.5mm±0.20mm
Over 400mm to 1000mm±0.8mm±0.30mm
Over 1000mm to 2000mm±1.2mm±0.50mm
Over 2000mm to 4000mm±2.0mm

*Please clearly indicate tolerances for nominal sizes, below 0.5mm on your technical drawing.

Common Applications of CNC Milling Parts

CNC milling machines let operators create complex designs with very tight tolerances.

As a result, it is one of the most accurate manufacturing techniques to date.

Here’s a look at the products you can create:

1. Aerospace components such as landing gear components, fuselage structures
2. Components for the automotive industry such as control panels, axles, car molds
3. Consumer electronics components such as enclosures
4. Medical components such as surgical instruments, orthotics
5. Oil and gas machine parts such as valves, rods, pins
6. Prototyping and modeling
7. Sculptures
8. Furniture
9. Woodworking

FAQ's

1. What kind of surface finishes does offer?

Our array of finishing services is diverse, allowing us to achieve nearly any desired aesthetic and

tactile quality for your parts. From treatments for metals to texturing for plastic injection mold tools,

and from painting metal to plastic, we offer a comprehensive selection of finishes.

If you're interested in understanding how to specify the surface texture you have in mind, our

blog provides valuable insights.

2. Can my parts undergo passivation?

Passivation, a surface treatment altering the chemistry of specific metals, is available as a service.

We offer passivation with the goal of improving corrosion protection, durability, cosmetic appeal,

and other desired attributes.

3. What will be the import duty cost for my goods?

Determining the precise import duty amount is complex, as it depends on several factors.

For customers in Australia, the recent CHAFTA regulations allow for a phased implementation

of duty-free imports. Import duties vary widely across countries and hinge on the nature of the

imported goods. Most countries globally follow the international Harmonized System (HS) codes,

providing a systematic classification for nearly all commercial trade goods.

4. What shipping terms do you operate under?

Our standard shipping terms are Ex Works (EXW) for both rapid prototyping and regular production

orders. In this scenario, the customer takes charge of shipping, customs clearance, and any related

fees once the goods have been dispatched from our premises.

For express shipments, we employ Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU). This places the responsibility on

the client to cover the import duty upon the goods' arrival at the specified destination.
