Square Hole Perforated Metal Applications:
Speaking of applications, square hole perforated metal products have numerous functional and decorative applications in industries such as electronics and pharmaceuticals. Examples include audio speaker grilles, machine guards and virtually any screening application that requires large open areas and a superior strength-to-weight ratio.
Packing:
Perforated metal should be packed firmly and securely. When
packing, perforated metal appears in roll type and flat type. They
are packed in wooden pallets generally. Each pallet load 1 ton-2.5
tons and wrapped with plastic film. We can also pack according to
customer requirements.
Guidelines for Minimum Hole Size/Minimum Bar Width:
The rule of thumb for perforating is that the hole diameter should
not be less than the thickness of the material. The closer to a
1-to-1 ratio, the higher the probability of tool failure and the
greater the precautions necessary to avoid it. Modifications can be
made in certain instances at additional costs. For stainless steels
and similar higher strength materials, it is preferable to specify
at least three thickness gauges thinner than hole diameter.
The same general rule applies to bar width. The bar width should be greater than material thickness because of the increased number of punches and therefore, increased perforation tonnage. The bar width can be adjusted at increased costs.
Perforated Metal Square Hole Patterns:
You can typically purchase square hole perforated metal in sheets or coils and in either a staggered or straight-line hole pattern. When choosing a straight pattern, the row of holes usually runs parallel to the long dimension of the sheet, while a staggered square hole pattern features a short dimension direction.
